Help Beautify Chatham

Written by Administrator on .

The “Greenways of Chatham” is the Chamber’s program designed to promote the beautification of the Village streets and businesses. The Chamber in conjunction with other Village service organizations is committed to an ongoing revitalization of the look and appearance of the Village.

Program efforts include:

Chatham In Bloom: An annual business and residential beautification contest.

Village Clean_up Days: Twice a year business owners and their employees walk the Village's main thourough fares picking up trash.

Village Tree Committee: The Chamber has partnered with the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale's Forestry Department to form a Village Tree Committee to develop community tree preservation and re-planting projects with local scout and school groups.  Anyone interested in joining this committee should call 483-6450.

The Chamber purchased street banners which it donated to the Village to create a welcoming presence on Main Street and Plummer Blvd. Watch for flags during the summer, the gazebo in the fall and the snow flakes in the winter. Please contact Pam Beaman or Shellie Petty at 483-6450 for ideas and to volunteer.
